Jammers Vs Falsifications
Not long ago Ukrainians had to choose a president who will lead them to the bright future and as always some candidates tried to use any possibility to gain more votes, even illegal ones . In addition to ”ordinary” methods of falsification that were used during previous elections, improved ways of interfering into voting process took place.
Everyone knows that the most widely spread method of falsification at any elections is bribing of voters. But this method has one big disadvantage, voter may take money and still give his vote to another candidate. It was almost impossible to find out the voter’s choice until now. Today’s equipment allowed a person to gain absolute control over the voting process of another person with the help of various secret gadgets. So some political parties started to set small hidden wireless cameras on the bribed voters to receive real time video from voting cabin and so got the opportunity to check whether the voter made the “right” decision. Also for these purposes cell phones that support video calls were used.
Knowing all this, other parties equipped their representatives with special phone jammers to disrupt 2.4 GHz frequency and thus to prevent opponents from using wireless cams. Also GSM and 3G jammers were used to jam all mobile phones at the voting cabins. In the vast majority of cases only one jammer was used. That universal jammer not only blocks all those frequencies but also is rather compact so it was not a problem to use it secretly.
As you can see, blockers become more and more popular at the post-Soviet territories. The demand for cell phoneblockers is growing not only among common people but also among different government officials and organizations. In January 2010 jammers were used at the elections, in spring 2010 cell phonejammers are supposed to be used during school exams. What’s next?
